Sprint Football Drops Contest with Penn at Home

ITHACA, N.Y. —- The Cornell sprint football team (1-3) dropped its contest against the University of Pennsylvania on Schoellkopf field on Saturday with a scoreline of 41-0.

This loss puts the Big Red at a three game losing streak on the season and an 11 game losing streak against Penn. 

JT Goodman and Tom Rebstock led Penn in scoring with two touchdowns apiece. Kyle Zeitlian and Andy Falletta each recorded one touchdown for the Quakers.

Penn's quarterback Michael Malone finished the game going 14-for-19 for 166 yards, two touchdowns, one interception and three sacks.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Quakers had two sacks and three interceptions. 

On Cornell's side, quarterback Max Spero went 11-for-25 for 101 yards, three interceptions and one sack. The Big Red played three quarterbacks in the match-up in Spero, Charles Snajdr-Trinch and Logan Clappier.

Kevin Lopez led Cornell in rushing with a net of 6 yards. Evan Nicholas led the team in receiving with four catches for 43 yards.

Cornell's defense was yet again the bright spot for the squad. Eli Biddlecom tallied three sacks, five tackles for loss, one blocked extra point and ten total tackles. Evan Nicholas and Dan O'Malley each had one interception and Zach Glenn had one sack and two tackles for loss.

While the Quakers shut out Cornell throughout the entire game, the Big Red was able to hold Penn to just six points in the second half after letting up 35 points in the first. 

Cornell sprint football will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 18 on the road against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. where they will look to get back into the win column.
