The Big Red were tasked with making key stops in the opening period. Bergmann stopped five shots in that stanza, most of which came during the RPI power-play. The Big Red had its fair-share of success on the offensive-side of the ice testing Engineer net-minder seven times, but to no avail. The team's finished the opening period locked at 0-0.
Cornell found its footing in the second period and continued its defensive pace in the meantime, registering four consecutive goals while holding RPI to none. Van Gelder, Jockims, Avar, and Perron-Roy were the catalysts of the goal-explosion.
In the final period, the Big Red tacked on three more tallies to ice its first ECAC Hockey win of the season. Avar scored two of the three in the third, claiming her first-career hat-trick.
Annelies Bergmann registered her second shutout of the year, earning 18 saves in the game.
