ITHACA, N.Y. — Rachel Kaus hit a layup with 28.3 seconds left in overtime to put Cornell women's basketball up by one and snap its three-game losing streak with a 64-63 victory over Mercyhurst on Wednesday. The Big Red are now 3-5 on the season.

Azareya Kilgoe, Emily Pape and Kelsey Langston led the team in assists with four each, Pape and Vivienne Knee each recorded one block and Jackson also led the team in steals with three.

While Jackson led the team in points, rebounds and steals she also broke multiple of her own career single game records. Jackson's 18 points and her 10 rebounds are both career highs for the athlete. She also shot 9-for-12 from the field which serves as her most field goals made and attempts had in a single game.

The Big Red overall shot 40.3 percent from the field over Mercyhurst's 39.3. Cornell shot 25.0 percent from three to the Laker's 20.8 percent and the Big Red shot 66.7 percent from the line to Mercyhurst's 55.6.

While the Cornell offense stepped up to secure an overtime win, the defense held its ground throughout the game holding Mercyhurst to a less than 38 percent overall shooting average in Wednesday's game.
