PRICETON, N.J. – The Cornell volleyball team (12-8, 6-5 Ivy) falls to Princeton (11-10, 9-2 Ivy) in three sets on Friday night at Dillon Gymnasium.
Kohanihokuao Misipeka had a career-high 11 kills on a .444 hitting percentage, two blocks and two digs.
Mackenzie Parsons also reached double-digit kills with 10 of her own on a .350 hitting percentage, three digs and two blocks.
Sarita Pomar took care of the defensive efforts with 11 digs and three service aces.
First Set (23-25 Princeton)
Princeton opened the match with a 6-1 advantage.
Cornell responded with three-straight points that included kills from Misipeka and Camryn Carlo.
Cornell is sent into the first timeout of the game after an 8-1 run from the Tigers that brought the score to 5-13.
Cornell comes out of the stoppage with a Parsons kill.
An ace from Jackie Baker made it 17-19 and sent Princeton into their first timeout.
Another kill from Parsons takes the lead for the first time at 20-19.
Carlo adds one more kill before Princeton grabs the first set 23-25.
Second Set (25-27 Princeton)
Cornell took the first two points of the set with back-to-back kills from Eliza Konvicka.
After a six-point run from the Tigers, Carlo throws in a kill and a block alongside Megahan Gaffigan, 8-13 Princeton.
Cornell starts a rally of six to tie it up at 15-15 with back-to-back kills from Misipeka and ace from Pomar.
Misipeka kill sent Princeton into a time out. Cornell with the lead 22-21.
The set ended with four lead changes as Princeton took the set 25-27.
Third Set (20-25 Princeton)
The opening of the final set was knotted 7-7 as Princeton started up a 9-2 run to take the lead 9-15.
Konvicka adds back-to-back kills to shorten the gap to three, 13-16 Princeton.
Princeton brings the match to set point as Parsons adds one more kill, 20-24.
The Tigers take the set at 20-25 and the match in three.
