Women's Track and Field Earn Ten Personal-Best Marks in the Final Day of the Greg Page Relays

ITHACA N.Y. – Cornell women's track and field set multiple personal-bests and won 10 events on the second day of the Greg Page Relays to open the season.

Bronwyn Parks (5:13.39) and Avery Brull (5:16.45) opened the day for the Big Red with first and second place finishes in the mile. Sierra Burror won the 3000m with a personal-best time of 10:35.08.

Cornell then swept the podium in the 1000m with Madelyn Poole (3:00.19), Henriette Schminke (3:04.37) and Brooke Hirsch, with a personal-best time of 3:06.33, taking the top three spots. The Big Red also swept the shot put with Noelle Elkinton (14.45m), Nicole Loy (12.90m) and Claire Springer (12.47m) on top.

For the sprinters, Natasha Redmond (7.59) and Jada Smith (7.61) followed with a first and second place finish in the 60m. Imani Reid placed first in the 300m with a personal-best time of 40.02.

Jordanne Nichols, Glenn Parker, Francine Stevens and Reyne Rodrigues won the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:58.92.

In the field events, Rikki Carver and Sade Falese placed in the top two in the long jump with marks of 5.78m and personal-best 5.60m respectively. Syna Sony placed first in the high jump with a jump of 1.71m. Avery Hilliard won the pole vault with a mark of 3.91.

Also finishing in the top three of their respective events include Remond (25.37) and Parker (25.61) in second and third in the 200m, Rodrigues in third in the 300m with a personal-best time of 41.13, Johanna Stuard placed third with a mark of 1.62m in the high jump and Quincy Hansen with a 3.82 mark in the pole vault to finish third.

In Boston

Cornell track and field sent three distance runners to the BU Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener: Augustine Haquet, Katja Jackson and Gwen Parks.

Haquet broke the school record in the indoor 3000m run with a time of 9:10.02 to place 25th in the field of 128.

Parks and Jackson finished second and third in the 1000m with times of 2:49.49 and 2:50.75.

The Big Red continues the Greg Page Relays tomorrow morning with the first event going off at 10:30 a.m. at Barton Hall.
