CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Cornell women's tennis fell to Xavier, 4-0, in a road test on Saturday afternoon. Cornell women's tennis fell to 3-7 on the season while Xavier improved to 8-3.
The day began with doubles action.
Michelle Ryndin and
Alexandra Savu fell in the No. 2 match, 6-1, to Ellie Brotherton and Abby Nugent.
Jenny Wong and
Victoria Zhao took the No. 3 match in a 6-2 decision over Emily Flowers and Sofia Mazzucato.
Emma Baker and Lauren Stien dropped the No. 1 match to Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk in a tight 7-5 battle, giving the Musketeers the first point.
In singles play,
Gia Graziano fell to Sofia Mazzucato, 6-3, 6-1, in the No. 5 match. Anna Roggenburk bested
Michelle Ryndin in the No. 2 match, 6-4, 6-2 to push Xavier to a 3-0 lead, and Emily Flowers sealed the game with a 6-4, 6-2 finish in the No. 6 match.
Lauren Stein,
Emma Baker, and
Jenny Wong's single matches all went down as unfinished with Xavier earning the sweep.
