HOBE SOUND, Fla. -- The Cornell men's golf team opened up its spring break trip on a tough note, falling 5-1 to the Dartmouth Big Green in match play on Saturday from the McArthur Golf Club in Florida. Cornell and Dartmouth were close throughout the day through all six head-to-head battles.

Cornell's lone win on the afternoon came from Jackson Debusschere, as the junior won 1 up against Big Green sophomore Cameron Keith. Tyler Debusschere also played well in the sun, sitting two strokes behind one of Dartmouth's best golfers in senior Alex Gu with one hole left. Freshman Viktor Stollinger battled all afternoon in his first spring trip, falling 3&1 to Eli Kimche.

Sliding over to the rest of the Big Red entries, Weston Warden and Char Russekoff each lost 4&3 to Aaron Zhang and Fin Szafnauer. Tismark Boham was the final Cornell golfer on the day, taking an 8&6 loss to Tyler Brand.

With its match against Dartmouth in the rearview, the Big Red will continue training down in the Sunshine State at Breakers West (Sunday), Seminole Golf Club (Monday), High Ridge Golf Club (Tuesday), and Loblolly Golf Club (Wednesday) before having an off day on Thursday.
