PRINCETON, N.J. - The Cornell women's track and field team earned five event victories on Saturday Mar. 30 at the Sam Howell Invite, hosted by Princeton University.
Noelle Elkinton (discus),
Reyne Rodrigues (400-meter dash),
Avery Hilliard (pole vault), Marge Dalseth (steeplechase) and
Augustine Haquet (1500-meter run) claimed first-place in their respective events.
Elkinton tossed an impressive 43.46-meter discus to take the top spot. Rodrigues moved up to seventh all-time in the outdoor 400-meter hurdles with her personal-best 1.00.54 time. Standout freshman Hilliard climbed the outdoor records in the pole vault moving to fourth all-time with her 4-meter result. Dalseth's 10:38.34 steeplechase was a personal-best. Haquet moved up in the 1500-meter dash Cornell all-time list and put herself in a strong position to be a regional qualifier with her 4:19.08 time.
Elkinton showed out in the shot put as well, earning a second-place mark (14.28 meters). Meilie Kry was the runner up in the long jump (5.72 meters).
Elise Sawyer took second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.00).
Justine Hounsell (200-meter dash - 24.99),
Mairead Clas (1500-meter run - 4:30.22),
Madeline Nason (5000-meter run - 17:14.13), Maddie Packer (long jump - 5.72 meters),
Anika Sukumar (triple jump - 11.96 meters), and
Abby Nonnenberg (discus - 43.06 meters) claimed third-place results.

The Cornell women's track and field team will gear up for competition at the Colonial Relays hosted by William and Mary. The meet is slated for next weekend and will begin on Thurs. April 4 and conclude on Sat. April 6.
