PRINCETON, N.J. -- For the third time this season, Cornell lacrosse senior attackman CJ Kirst has been named the Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week the conference announced Monday afternoon. The Bernardsville, N.J. native is one of three players in the conference to earn a Player of the Week honor three times, joining Yale's Matt Brandau and Penn's Emmet Carroll.

In this weekend's outing against Ivy Foe, #19-#18 Harvard, Kirst posted five points on two goals and three assists to help Cornell secure a bid to the Ivy League Tournament and position the team atop the conference with Yale. In addition to his offensive prowess, Kirst caused two turnovers on the ride and scooped three groundballs. His career-caused turnover total now ranks ninth in the Cornell record books, sitting at 45 and counting.

Kirst and the rest of the Big Red close out the regular season on Saturday, April 27 at Dartmouth. Faceoff is set for 4 p.m. in Hanover, N.H. and the game will be streamed live via ESPN+. A win over the Big Green gives the Big Red at least a share of the Ivy regular season title and makes Schoellkopf Field the host site of the 2024 Ivy League Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Cornell earning a share of the title would mark the first time an Ivy team has won at least a share of the Ivy Championship since the Big Red did so from 2013 to 2015.
