ITHACA, N.Y. - The Cornell women's track and field team celebrated 12 seniors day on Sunday at Kane Sports Complex. The Big Red had no shortage of wins taking 11 events, one of which saw
Avery Hilliard improve the Cornell freshman record in the pole vault.
Hilliard continued her exceptional freshman campaign, vaulting a personal-best 4.15 meters to ranked her second in school history and reset the freshman record yet again.
Imani Reid placed herself in the Cornell top-10, sprinting her way to an 11.86-second 100-meter dash title which moved her to seventh all-time in school history. She was note done there, as she earned the 200-meter dash crown with her 24.35-second mark. Cornellians held the top-four positions in the 400-meter dash, but it was
Delaney Benedict who stood atop the pack by nearly three seconds (55.94 seconds) to earn the win.
Aniyah Walters took first-place in the 100-meter hurdles with her 14.33-second sprint.
Reyne Rodrigues was the lone sprinter in the 400-meter hurdles as she posted a 1:00.56 time to gear up for a strong run at the Heps title next weekend.
Maddie Packer (long jump - 5.89 meters) and
Anika Sukumar (triple jump - 12.07 meters) took care of business in the jumps. Abby Nonnenburg (discus - 44.94 meters),
Noelle Elkinton (shot put - 14.48 meters), and Stella Williams (javelin - 36.05 meters led the Big Red to three out of four wins in the throws.
