PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- Cornell women's tennis battled against #70 Penn on Friday afternoon, but ultimately fell, 4-0, at the Hecht Tennis Center in Philadelphia, Pa. With the loss, Cornell fell to 7-10 (0-2 Ivy) while Penn improved to 14-5 (2-0 Ivy).
In doubles play, Sabine Rutlauka and Eileen Wang combined for a 6-1 win over
Lauren Stein and Jenn Wong, while
Michelle Ryndin and
Alexandra Savu battled against Esha Velaga and Maya Urata, but lost 6-4, giving Penn the double's point.
Emma Baker and
Victoria Zhao, who were leading Iris Gallo and Sasha Motlagh, 5-4, had their match go down as unfinished,
In singles play, Rutlauka took the No. 2 match 6-3, 6-4 against Michell Ryndin. Maya Urata followed with a 7-5, 6-2 victory over
Tanya Fan, and Eileen Wang sealed the Penn victory with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over
Jenny Wong in the No. 4 match.

Cornell is back to action Sunday, April 7 to host #52 Princeton in the team's first home match since March 16. First serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Reis Tennis Center.
