PRINCETON, N.J. - The Cornell men's track and field team stood tied for sixth-place after day one of the Ivy League Outdoor Heptagonal Championships. The Big Red clinched six event-finals on the day.
Domenic Barresi clinched qualifications in the 100- and 200-meter dash finals.
Fabien De Silva was a fifth-place finisher in the 400-meter dash to earn a finals berth.
Damian Hackett (3:47.54) and
Tyler Canaday (3:48.82) advanced to the championship round in the 1500-meter run.
Ryder King took sixth (52.60 seconds) to qualify himself for the 400-meter hurdles finals.
Shane Racey took third-place in the pole vault with a 5.26-meter mark.
Brad Morell claimed a third-place spot in the hammer throw (62.81 meters).
Ryan Brynjolfson (3596) and
Patrick Brewer (3217) sits fourth and fifth respectively in the decathlon heading into day two.
