ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell men's lacrosse alumnus
Chayse Ierlan became the fourth Big Red to be selected in the PLL Draft. Ierlan is headed west after being selected 29th overall by the California Redwoods. The Victor, N.Y., native played his final year of eligibility at Johns Hopkins.
The 2024 PLL College Draft, which aired on ESPNU, consisted of four rounds with each of the eight teams drafting at least three selections following trades. Ierlan was one of just two goalkeepers to be picked, joining Liam Entemann of Notre Dame (5th overall, Atlas).
No. 22 joins
Gavin Adler, Jeff Teat (drafted twice after electing to return to school following the 2020 draft, then going #1 overall in 2021), and Clarke Petterson as the Cornell PLL draft picks.
Ierlan, who was named an honorable mention All-American in his fifth-year season and made a run to the national championship game in 2022, posted a career save percentage of .517 and amassed 36 in a Cornell jersey. He made 590 saves in his career. In the 2022 season, Ierlan tallied a goal on a full-field heavy against Ohio State. Over his four seasons with the Big Red, he was the starting goaltender for two Ivy regular season championship teams and was a two-time All-Ivy honoree.

Ierlan will join former Big Red Rob Pannell and his brother, TD Ierlan, who graduated from Yale, on the Redwoods roster.
