ITHACA, N.Y. -- Rising junior field hockey player Grace Leahy has been named to the Canadian Junior National Team that will compete at the Junior Pan Am Championship beginning on July 2 in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada. The top three finishing teams will qualify for the 2025 FIH Hockey Junior World Cups.

"We are delighted for Gracie that once again she has been selected for this group and earned the chance to compete for Canada," said Cornell head coach Andy Smith. "Over the past couple years, she has developed into one of the best players in the country and we are excited to watch her this summer in Vancouver. It is yet more evidence of the level of our program and shows that you can in fact achieve your high-performance dreams while receiving the best education in the world by attending Cornell."

It is Leahy's third time on the Junior National Team, previously making the squad in 2020 and 2022.

A second-team All-Ivy and NFHCA All-Region pick in 2023, Leahy ranked third in the conference (and 20th nationally) in goals. In 15 starts she scored 22 points and tallied three game-winning goals, including in victories over Yale and nationally-ranked Syracuse. In just two varsity seasons, Leahy has 34 points on 16 goals (16th all-time at Cornell) and a pair of assists.

Canada won the 2021 competition in Santiago, Chile, and finished fourth in 2023 in Saint Michael, Barbados.
