Both of Mayfield's victories came in March, where he posted triumphs over Richmond (March 16) and Dartmouth (March 30). Mayfield's first quality start in a Cornell uniform came in a no decision against Princeton in the opening game of a March 22 doubleheader where he struck out a career-high eight batters without issuing a walk in 6.2 innings pitched — which was also the longest outing of his collegiate career.
