CAMBRIDGE, Conn. -- The Cornell women's tennis team had two players reach the quarterfinals to wrap up the 2025 ITA Northeast Regional Championships over the weekend as competition wrapped up at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center.
Sophomores
Sage Loudon and
Victoria Zhao led the Big Red charge, each posting back-to-back victories to reach the final eight in a field that featured some of the region's top players. Loudon downed Brown's Anne Yang 6-1, 6-2 in the Round of 32, then battled past Marist's Viktoria Lorentzon 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 in a gritty Round of 16 decision before falling to Harvard's Stephanie Yakoff in the quarterfinals.
Zhao followed a similar path, defeating Boston College's Olivia Benton 6-2, 7-5 and Brown's Ali Maguy 7-6, 3-6, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals, where she was edged by Yale's Orly Ogilvy 6-4, 6-3.
Freshman
Dylan Gelber and junior
Michelle Ryndin both bowed out in the Round of 32 after strong early-tournament performances.
In doubles action, the tandem of
Emma Baker and Gelber advanced to the Round of 16, defeating Colgate's Rebecca Hess and Avery Isaac 8-4 before falling to Boston College's Leyden Games and Tola Glowacka. Loudon and Martinez also competed, dropping an 8–5 battle to Quinnipiac's Willow Renton and Caitlin Flower.
Cornell continues fall competition when it competes at the Ivy League Invitational beginning on Friday, Oct. 24 at Harvard's Beren Tennis Center.

Dylan Gelber advanced through the qualifying draw with convincing wins over Rhode Island's Kajsa Helgesen (6-1, 6-1) and Dartmouth's Lauren Han (6-2, 6-1) before carrying that momentum into the main draw, where she defeated Boston College's Leyden Games 6-4, 6-4. In doubles, Gelber and senior
Emma Baker teamed up for an 8-5 first-round victory over Syracuse's Constance Levivier and Haram Kim.
Sophomore
Andrea Martinez De Los Rios also made a strong run in singles, topping Fairfield's Sarah Liu (6-1, 6-1) and Rhode Island's Anastasi Pettersson (6-4, 1-6, 6-3) to reach the main draw before falling to Dartmouth's Alexandra Orlins in three sets. Cornell's
Tanya Fan earned a three-set win in the qualifying round before bowing out in consolation play, while senior
Gia Graziano and Baker each fell to seeded opponents in the opening round.
In main draw singles,

Victoria Zhao each opened with straight-set victories. Ryndin downed Brown's Daniella Benbaraham 6-3, 6-4; Loudon defeated Lehigh's Emma Sanchez 6-4, 6-2; and Zhao edged Binghamton's Lauren Kettlewell 6-4, 7-6.
In doubles, Loudon and Martinez cruised past Providence's Flora Eidson and Allison Root 8–0, while Ryndin and Zhao fell in their opener to Syracuse's Nelly Knezkova and Anastasia Sysoeva.
Competition continues Saturday with main draw singles and doubles action.
