WESTFIELD, N.J. — The Cornell men's golf team finished the opening round of the Georgetown Intercollegiate in 11th place with a team score of 316 on Monday at Echo Lake Country Club.
Shep Davis paced the Big Red with a 6-over-par 77 on the 6,950-yard layout, and is tied for 21st individually.
Weston Warden followed with a 7-over 78, tied for 33rd place.
Delaware is atop the leaderboard after 18 holes with a score of 300. Drew Schauenberg of Georgetown posted the day's low round with a 1-under 70 to sit atop the individual leaderboard.
Harvard (302), Howard (303) and William & Mary (304) round out the top five in the team standings.
The Big Red will look to move up the leaderboard when the tournament concludes with Tuesday's second round at Echo Lake CC.
