WESTFIELD, N.J. — Cornell men's golf closed out the Georgetown Intercollegiate, which was shortened from three rounds to two rounds due to weather, with a second-round 313 (+29) on Tuesday at Echo Lake Country Club, finishing 11th in the 11-team field with a 36-hole total of 345 (+61).
For the third time this season, freshman
Shep Davis led the Big Red with a two-round total of 153 (+11), after shooting a 76 in Tuesday's second round. He finished tied for 29th overall.
Tyler Debusschere finished 45th with a 158 (+16), including a 78 (+7) on Tuesday, two strokes better than Monday's first round 80 (+9). Teammate
Weston Warden placed 46th overall, one stroke behind Debusschere with a two-round score of 159 (+17). The senior shot a 82 (+10) in round two.
Adithya Venkataraghavan and
TJ Betlow each carded 160 to tie for 47th. Venkataraghavan finished round two with a 79 (+8), while Betlow carded an 80 (+9).
Host Georgetown captured the team title at 21-over 305, eight strokes ahead of Harvard. Georgetown's Barnes Blake and Harvard's Reese Jensen shared medalist honors at 1-over 143.
