Cornell Competes at Open ACC Finals in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Cornell sailing team continued its championship stretch at the Open Atlantic Coast Championship Finals, hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy. Facing one of the deepest fields of the season - featuring 14 of the nation's top 16 teams - the Big Red finished 18th overall with 378 points across 14 races in both divisions.

In A Division, senior skipper Sophia Devling teamed with freshman Paulina Freyre and sophomores Ava Gustafson and Ava Stevens to post several solid races, while sophomore Gilda Dondona and senior Sophia Mulvania, joined by junior Pilar Cundey and sophomore Kathi Keller, steered the B Division to a 15th-place finish. The regatta added another high-level test for the Big Red as it continued its late-fall schedule against some of the nation's best collegiate programs.

Cornell will be back in action at the MAISA Women's Fall Dinghy at SUNY Maritime and the War Memorial at Hobart and William Smith beginning on Saturday, Oct. 25.
