| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- Cornell sailing is set to close out the 2025-26 season when the team heads to Tampa, Fla. to compete on the national stage. The Big Red will field boats in the Western Women's National Semifinals, which is set to commence on Friday, May 15. The two-day event will set qualifiers up for the two-day finals regatta starting on Sunday, May 17.

The Big Red last competed at the ICSA Women's Team Racing Nationals, finishing seventh at the regatta that was held on April 26-27 in New Orleans, La. Cornell was an automatic qualifier as one of the top two teams in the MAISA standings.

This week's regatta will be competed across two divisions. The Big Red will face boats in both divisions from 17 schools including Bowdoin, Brown, Coast Guard, George Washington, Georgetown, Hawaii, Michigan, MIT, Navy, Northeastern, Northwestern, Penn, Rollins, South Florida, Tulane, Western Washington and Yale. Each school's scores will be added together to determine finishing positions and the top nine teams will advance to the ICSA National finals.

Cornell will compete in one more national regatta this season, taking aim at the Open National Semifinals on May 19-20.
