ITHACA, N.Y. -- Five members of the Cornell men's tennis team will compete at the Ivy League Conference Masters Men's Qualifier, hosted by Penn from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 24-26, at the Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Centers. The event serves as a qualifying tournament for the ITA Conference Masters Championships, to be held Nov. 6-9 in San Diego, Calif.
Representing the Big Red in singles play will be senior Noah Eisenberg, junior Eric Verdes, sophomore Rushil Khosla and freshmen Nathan Gold and Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar. In doubles action, Verdes and Khosla will team up, while Senthil Kumar and Gold form Cornell's second pairing.
Winners in both singles and doubles will advance to the ITA Conference Masters Championships, part of a two-year pilot shifting the NCAA individual qualifying process to the fall season. Cornell has already secured NCAA berths for the doubles duo of Felipe Pinzon and Petar Teodorovic, while Rodrigo Fernandes will compete at the ITA Sectional Championships in Chapel Hill, N.C., also from Nov. 6-9.
