Doubles Team Wins Ivy Tourney, Qualifies For ITA Conference Masters Event

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Cornell men's tennis team capped a standout weekend in championship fashion on Sunday as sophomore Rushil Khosla and freshman Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar captured the 2025 ITA Ivy League Conference Masters Qualifier doubles title at Penn's Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Centers. With the victory, Khosla and Kumar punched their ticket to the ITA Conference Masters Championships, to be held Nov. 6–9 in San Diego, Calif., where they will compete for a berth in the NCAA Doubles Championships.

The Big Red tandem edged Penn's Shaurya Bharadwaj and Vojtech Vales 8-7 in a tense semifinal before securing the championship with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Harvard's Masato Perera and Rohan Murali in the final. Cornell knocked out the No. 3 and No. 1 seeds in back-to-back matches on Sunday.

The title marked a breakthrough moment for the newly formed duo, who went unbeaten through the three-day tournament to deliver Cornell its first Ivy Masters qualifier title since the event's inception.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- The Cornell men's tennis team continued its run at the 2025 ITA Ivy League Conference Masters Qualifier on Saturday at Penn's Hamlin/Hecht Tennis Centers, advancing one doubles team to the semifinals.

Sophomore Rushil Khosla and freshman Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar earned a hard-fought 8-7 victory over Penn's Matthew Rutter and Nischal Spurling in the quarterfinals, clinching their place among the tournament's final four. The duo continued its strong chemistry after Friday's opening-round win over Dartmouth's Leo Pade and Adrian Treacy, marking Cornell's deepest doubles advancement of the weekend. Two wins on Sunday would give the Big Red duo a spot in the ITA Conference Masters Championships and a shot at an NCAA Tournament bid.

In singles action, junior Felipe Pinzon saw his strong tournament come to an end in the round of 16, falling to Harvard's Rohan Murali 6-3, 6-3.
