HANOVER, N.H. - The no. 5-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team defeated the Dartmouth Big Green 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Thompson Arena. The Big Red improved to 4-0-0, while Dartmouth dropped to 1-3-0 on the season.

Lindzi Avar registered Big Red goals in the game.

Rose Dwyer, and
Georgia Schiff were credited with assists in the contest. The Big Red scored three power-play goals in the game, going 3 for 5.
Adam got the scoring started late in the opening period to get the Big Red a 1-0 lead. Lindzi made the Big Red power-play count with seconds remaining in the first.
Nora potted her first of the game late in the second frame on a power-play to increase the Big Red advantage to 3-0. Prefontaine added more insurance at the top of the third. Curtis netted her second of the evening, giving Cornell three power-plays in the game. Bergmann totaled 17 saves and her second shutout of the year.
The Big Red found its flow on the woman-up advantage, scoring multiple power-play goals in a game for the first time this season. This also marks the fourth-straight game the a first-year has scored a Big Red goal, with
Shannon Pearson potting the first Cornell goal of the season, and Curtis extending her goal-streak to three.
The penalty-kill has also proven strong through four games, holding teams scoreless so far. Cornell's opponents have had eight chances to find pay-dirt on the advantage, to no avail.
