APALACHIN, N.Y. — The Cornell men's golf team finished ninth at Binghamton's annual Matthews Auto Collegiate after posting a two-round score of 591 (+15), including a 295 (+7) during Monday's second round.
Iona took home the team title with a score of 561 (-15), highlighted by Sahir Balyan who won the individual title with a two-round score of 135 (-9).
Tyler Debusschere led the Big Red after shooting even-par 72 in the final round to finish tied for 11th with a 36-hole score of 142 (-2). Debusschere opened the tournament with a 2-under 70 on Sunday.
Adithya Venkataraghavan tied for 31st with a two-round total of 146 (+2). He posted an even-par 72 in Monday's second round, two strokes better than his opening-round 74.
Javier Benerofe and
Weston Warden completed Cornell's scoring lineup, tying for 55th and 57th, respectively. Benerofe carded a 36-hole score of 151 (+7), while Warden finished at 152 (+8).
Shep Davis rounded out the team scoring with a tournament total of 156 (+12).
TJ Betlow and
Jack Burda competed as individuals for the Big Red, recording scores of 150 (+6) and 151 (+7), respectively.

Cornell will travell to Westfield, N.J., for its final event of the fall, the Georgetown Invitational, on Oct. 13 at Echo Lake Country Club.
