NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Cornell women's volleyball dropped a 3–0 decision on the road Friday night at Yale, falling 25–20, 25–19, 25–16 at Payne Whitney Gymnasium. The Big Red moved to 14–10 overall and 9–5 in Ivy League play with one match left in the regular season.
Eliza Konvicka led the Cornell attack with 16 kills on .400 hitting, pacing a Big Red offense that finished with 34 kills overall. Mackenzie Parsons added seven kills on an efficient .700 clip while contributing two blocks. Setter Doga Ozalp dished out a team-high 13 assists, and Sara Pomar added six digs along with three assists. Cornell also tallied seven total blocks, including four from Ava Bogan.
Set 1 — Yale 25, Cornell 20
Cornell opened the night trading points with Yale through the early stages, tying the frame eight times as both sides leaned on physical blocking and aggressive swings. Konvicka and Jaida Sione supplied steady offense to keep the Big Red level at 13–13, but Yale responded with a late scoring push highlighted by strong swings from Laurece Abraham and Ava Poinsett. Parsons added multiple kills down the stretch to keep Cornell within reach, but Yale closed out the set 25–20.
Set 2 — Yale 25, Cornell 19
Yale jumped ahead quickly in the second set, forcing Cornell into early errors. Nicole Mallus and Parsons provided key kills that sparked a mid-set response and cut Yale's lead to 11–7. Konvicka took over offensively, delivering a string of kills that narrowed the gap to 17–15. But Yale's blocking slowed the Cornell attack late, and the Bulldogs pulled away to take the frame 25–19.
Set 3 — Yale 25, Cornell 16
The third set again saw Cornell battle early, with Parsons and Konvicka combining for several points to keep the score tight at 9–8. But service pressure from Yale and a series of runs from Poinsett and Kellen widened the margin. A late Big Red block by Parsons offered a brief spark, but the Bulldogs maintained control and secured the match with a 25–16 win.
