Chen’s Career-High Leads Cornell to OT Road Win Over Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Audrey Chen scored a career-high 14 points as Cornell edged Le Moyne 52-51 in overtime Saturday afternoon at Ted Grant Court. The Big Red improve to 3-3 on the season, while Le Moyne falls to 1-4.

Chen led Cornell with 14 points on 5-for-10 shooting, draining 4-of-8 from beyond the arc while adding three rebounds, three steals and one assist. Rachel Kaus contributed 14 points and four rebounds in 40 minutes of action. Clarke Jackson added nine points and five rebounds, while Emily Pape chipped in nine points and three rebounds.

Sierra Linnin contributed 11 points and seven rebounds, while Kayden Clark added three points off the bench.

The final stanza saw Cornell go up by four, 37-33, with 7:27 on the clock, but a 10-3 run by the Dolphins gave the home team a 43-40 lead with less than 20-seconds to play. That is when Chen, who before Saturday afternoon had a career-best of six points, banked in a game-tying 3-pointer with just 10-seconds left. Le Moyne's Buragas scored in the paint with two seconds remaining to give the Dolphins a 45-43 lead, but Kaus answered immediately with a layup off a Kelsey Langston assist to tie it at 45-45 and send the game to overtime.

In the extra session, Chen hit her fourth 3-pointer of the game to give Cornell a 50-47 lead with 3:22 remaining. After Le Moyne's Eli Clark connected on a 3-pointer to give the Dolphins a 51-50 lead, Chen drove for a layup that gave the Big Red a 52-51 advantage with 1:36 left. Cornell's defense held Le Moyne scoreless over the final 1:58, with Jackson recording a steal in the closing seconds to seal the victory.

Cornell shot 37.3 percent from the field (22-for-59) and 28.0 percent from 3-point range (7-for-25), while Le Moyne finished at 36.0 percent from the floor (18-for-50) and 38.1 percent from beyond the arc (8-for-21).
