ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell was unable to overcome a prolonged scoring drought spanning the third and fourth quarters as Army West Point pulled away for a 76-52 victory Tuesday night at Newman Arena. The Big Red fall to 4-7 on the season, while Army improves to 8-2.

Rachel Kaus led Cornell with 18 points on 7-for-16 shooting, adding five rebounds in 33 minutes of action. Kaus scored 14 of her 18 points in the first half. Junior

Grace Renners chipped in five points off the bench.
Cornell shot 41.2 percent from the field (21-for-51) but just 11.1 percent from 3-point range (1-for-9), while Army finished at 56.9 percent from the floor (29-for-51) and 47.4 percent from beyond the arc (9-for-19). The Black Knights controlled the glass with a 32-22 rebounding advantage and capitalized on second-chance opportunities. Cornell forced nine steals while committing 11 turnovers, with Army converting those miscues into 16 points.
Camryn Tade paced Army with 17 points on perfect 6-for-6 shooting, adding six assists and five rebounds. Reese Ericson matched Tade with 17 points, connecting on 5-of-11 from 3-point range. Taylor Wilson contributed 16 points, four steals and three blocks, while Reganne Reardon added 12 points off the bench. Kya Smith recorded seven points and 11 rebounds.
The game featured seven lead changes and seven ties in the opening quarter, with both teams trading baskets throughout. Cornell and Army entered the second quarter tied at 20-20 before the Black Knights took a 35-34 lead into halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive as Cornell went ice cold offensively. The Big Red went scoreless for the final 7:24 of the third quarter, allowing Army to build its lead. Cornell did not record a field goal from the 7:33 mark of the third quarter through 6:07 of the fourth quarter—a span of 11:26 of game time. During that stretch, Army outscored Cornell 22-3, with the Big Red's only points coming at the free throw line.
Army dominated the third quarter 16-6 to take a 51-40 lead into the final period. The Black Knights extended their advantage in the fourth, outscoring Cornell 25-12 to seal the victory. Army dominated the paint with 38 points and got 17 points from its reserves.
The Big Red struggled from beyond the arc, connecting on just one 3-pointer on nine attempts. Cornell shot 75.0 percent from the free throw line (9-for-12), while Army finished 81.8 percent from the stripe (9-for-11).
