STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Cornell men's track and field ended with seven first place finishes at the Sykes and Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State on Saturday.
Pierre Attiogbe, Damian Hackett and Derek Amicon swept the podium in the mile. Attogbe and Amicon each set personal-best times to also climb up in Cornell's history books. With a time of 3:56.38, Attiogbe sits at second and with a time of 3:59.37, Amicon is in fifth.
Distance runners Finn Boyle and Rithikh Prakash each won their events. Boyle placed first in the 800m with a time of 1:52.28 while Prakash finished first in the 3000m with a personal-best time of 8:19.02.
Two pairs of field athletes took the top two slots in their respective events. Eli Gault-Crabb and Kegan Mancabelli first and second in the pole vault. Gault-Crabb won the event with a mark of 5.25m. Then Michael Prieto and Ryan Brynjolfson jumped 2.07m and 2.04m respectively to take their top spots in the high jump.
Desmond Whitley placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 14.35m on his final jump of the day.
The 4x400 relay team consisting of Domenic Barresi, Michael Mazero, Ryder King and Fabien De Silva ran the event in 3:13.49 to take first place.
Other top three finishes include Jason Meza (1:04.66) and Jack Daly (1:05.16) coming in second and third in the 500m, Ryder King finished second in the 60m hurdles by .01 and Jacob Pantoya and Ryan Johnson finished second and third in the 1000m.
