Women's Track and Field Takes Six First-Place Finishes at Sykes and Sabock Invitational

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – Cornell women's track and field grabbed six first place finishes at the Sykes and Sabock Invitational hosted by Penn State on Saturday.

Quincy Hansen continues to climb the Cornell record books with a personal best 4.10m pole vault to take first place.

Two pairs of athletes took the top two slots in their respective events. Katja Jackson and Maddie Poole placed first and second in the 800m. Jackson ran it in a time of 2:09.86. Then, Anika Sukumar and Sarah Caldwell jumped 11.98m and 11.93m respectively to take their top spots in the triple jump.

Maisie McManus finished first in the 3000m in a time of 9:40.17 while Elise Sawyer took first in the 400m with a time of 55.58.

Noelle Elkinton was first in the shot put with a mark of 14.66m with teammate Charli Stewart two spots behind in third with a throw of 13.98.

Other top three finishes include Mairead Clas placing second in the mile with a time of 4:45.25, Jodi Parrott placing third in the 60m hurdles, Nathasha Redmond ran 200m in 24.79 to place third and Rikki Carver finished second in the long jump and Jada Smith in second in the 60m.

Penn Classic

The Big Red sent two athletes to the Penn Classic in Philadelphia, Augustine Haquet and Gwen Parks. Haquet won the mile in 4:36.16 with over four seconds to spare ahead of the next finisher. Park placed fourth in the 1000m with a season-best time of 2:45.59.
