ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell fencing team qualified three women for the upcoming NCAA Championships to be held beginning on Saturday, March 22 at Penn State's Multi-Sport Facility. The Saturday finals will be broadcast on ESPN+. It is the fifth time in the past six championships that the Big Red has qualified three or more fencers for the national championships.

Junior Ketki Ketkar, returning bronze medalist at the NCAA championships in epee, returns to the championships to try and better her finish from a year ago. Coming off a bronze at the most recent NCAA Regional championships last weekend, Ketkar sports a 52-18 record this season and is 147-49 for her career entering nationals. The three-time All-Ivy selection will be competing at nationals for the second time.

Senior Renata Chusid is also competing for the second time, but the first time since her freshman season in 2022. She is coming off an 11th-place finish at NCAA Regionals in foil, her second career top 12 effort. Chusid sports a team-best 75 wins (75-41) this season and is 179-98 in her four seasons.

In her first competitive season, sophomore Samantha Marsee reached the NCAA Championships in sabre following her ninth-place effort at regionals. Marsee is 69-38 in her primary weapon this year to rank third on the team in victories.

Cornell will be represented in each of the three weapons for the first time since 2022. In all, 15 fencers have qualified for NCAAs under head coach Ariana Klinkov.\\
