ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis team picked up its 10th dual match win of the season with a dominant 6-1 victory over St. John's on Saturday afternoon at the Reis Tennis Center. The 37th-ranked Big Red handed the Red Storm only their second loss of the season (14-2), and did so without All-American singles player
Radu Papoe.
Cornell cruised through the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No.2, then claimed straight sets wins at four singles positions, including in each of the top three rungs on the ladder. Those top three positions lost a total of 10 points to close out the win, with
Adit Sinha cruising to the win at No. 1.
Felipe Pinzon's 7-5, 6-1 triumph at No. 5 sealed the win, but Cornell went on to capture two other victories to bloat the final team score.
The Big Red will ready to begin Ivy League season when it visits Columbia on March 29 at 2 p.m.
