ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team claimed its first team race title of the spring season when it placed first in the eight-team ODU Women's Team Race on Sunday afternoon. Cornell also placed fourth in the Georgetown Team Race that concluded on Saturday.
The Big Red went 16-1 over two days in Norfolk, Va., including winning its final nine races of the weekend to easily outpace both Charleston and Georgetown, who both went 11-6. Navy was the other qualifying team in the final four. Cornell was 3-0 in the final round-robin to capture the title. Skippers

In challenging conditions at Georgetown, skippers

Kate Moran and Boris Bialer to grab fourth place in an event won by St. Mary's (Md.) in a sailoff with Georgetown.
The Big Red will head back South when it competes in the MAISA Team Racing League event at St. Mary's (Md.) with a split group at Navy's Spring Women's Team Race beginning on Saturday, March 8.
