ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's track and field split down the east coast attending three meets on the opening weekend of the outdoor season. The Big Red made appearances at the USF Alumni Invitational in Tampa Fl., The 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C and the Penn Challenge in Philadelphia, Pa.
USF ALUMNI INVITATIONAL
Ryan Brynjolfson had a strong showing in the first outdoor meet of the season in the men's high jump, clearing 2.00m to claim fifth place. Desmond Whitley impressed in the men's triple jump with a mark of 14.63m, securing seventh place. Ryder King battled through the men's 400m hurdles, finishing ninth with a time of 51.99 seconds. Tyler Tisinger competed in the men's 800m, crossing the line in 1:52.21 to place tenth.
49ER CLASSIC
Peter Northrup shined, winning the shot put with a throw of 17.36m to land in eight on Cornell's outdoor top-10 list and placing fourth in the hammer throw with a mark of 52.15m in the freshman's first time competing in the event. Joseph Rachiele earned fifth place in the javelin with a throw of 52.20m. Noah Harman secured sixth place in the shot put with a mark of 16.26m, while Mannie Arbabi claimed ninth place in the discus with a throw of 45.25m.
PENN CHALLENGE
Over in Philadelphia, the team continued to excel. Ryan Antwi took first place in the men's triple jump with a leap of 14.25m. Jason Meza delivered a winning performance in his first outdoor appearance for the Big Red in the men's 400m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 52.66 seconds.
Nicholas Frattina claimed third place in the shot put with a throw of 15.34m. In the men's long jump, Kameron Coleman placed second with a career-best jump of 6.62m, while Abraham Ailemen finished third with a mark of 6.43m. Gabe Ball earned fifth place in the men's high jump, clearing 1.85m and competed in the 400m for the first time placing tenth in a time of 53.41.
Peyton Shute delivered strong results in middle-distance events, finishing sixth in the 1500m with a time of 3:52.90 and seventh in the 800m with a time of 1:55.19, both personal best for the freshman. Colin Martens took seventh place in the 3000m, clocking in at 8:41.80.
In the 110m hurdles, Charles Wall-Davis finished sixth with a time of 15.22 seconds, while Teddy Rauchway placed seventh in 15.33 seconds.

The Big Red will come together to travel to the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State on March 27-29.
