ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell women's tennis team battled throughout the lineup, but No. 71 Columbia was able to claim the Ivy League opener for both teams with a 4-0 triumph on Saturday afternoon at Reis Tennis Center. The Big Red fell to 9-4 (0-1 Ivy), while Columbia improved to 10-6 (1-0 Ivy).
The Lions picked up a pair of 6-1 victories in doubles to claim the first point, then picked up straight sets victories at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 to claim the victory. The Big Red won the first set at No. 3 with
Sage Loudon and No. 5 with
Emma Baker, but both matches went unfinished.Â
Cornell will be back in action when Le Moyne visits Reis Tennis Center on Wednesday, April 2 at 4 p.m.
