TAMPA, Fla. – A small group of Cornell women's track and field team traveled down to the South Florida Invitational hosted by USF with competition on Friday and Saturday.
In the hurdles, Elise Sawyer delivered in the 400m hurdles, finishing second in 59.92, tying her career best. Reyne Rodrigues also came through with a strong performance in the same event, placing fifth in 1:00.82.
Tia Taylor pulled double duty with a sixth-place finish in the 100m hurdles (13.92) and a ninth-place mark in the long jump (5.83m). Jodi Parrott ran 14.13 in the 100m hurdles, finishing 11th.
Maddie Poole secured eighth in the 800m (2:12.33), while Francine Stevens posted a solid 10th-place finish in the 400m (55.30). Natasha Redmond was electric in the 100m with a 13th-place finish in 11.66, and clocking 23.94 in the 200m, good for 12th overall. Imani Reid followed close behind in the 200m with a 13th-place finish in 23.98.
Both relay squads turned in top performances as well. The 4x400m team of Sawyer, Redmond, Stevens, and Rodrigues ran 3:44.14 to finish sixth, and the 4x100m relay of Jada Smith, Takiya Henson, Redmond, and Reid sprinted to a fifth-place finish in 45.84.
