ITHACA, N.Y. -- Three Cornell equestrian team members will begin competition at the 2025 IHSA National Championships beginning on Friday, May 2. Competition opens each day at 8:30 a.m. at Tryon International Equestrian Center in Tryon, N.C.
Riding begins on Friday with junior
Jianna Simcik competing in The Chronicle of the Horse Limit Equitation of the Flat individual. The event will be held over two days, commencing on Saturday. She will be among six riders in the event.
Sophomore
Sunny Liu will be among 16 riders involved in Friday's Practical Horseman Individual Novice Equitation competition and one of just two to qualify from Zone 2. Like Simcik, it will be her first-ever trip to nationals after being the regional Reserve Champion.
Beginning Saturday and being contested over two days, junior
Riley Gerardo is one of 24 that will saddle up in the USHJA Hunter Seat High Point Rider contest. In her second season at nationals, Gerardo was the regional Cacchione Cup Champion this season.
