NEW HAVEN, Conn. — The No. 69-ranked Yale women's tennis team defeated Cornell, 4-1, in a Ivy League showdown on Saturday at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center.
Yale took the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to secure the point. The duo of Ogilvy and Ha took down Cornell's
Michelle Ryndin and
Sage Loudon 6-2, while The Bulldog pairing of Aggarwal and Brettkelly defeated
Jenny Wong and
Victoria Zhao 6-3.
In singles action, Cornell's lone bright spot came from Loudon, who secured an impressive 6-3, 7-5 victory over Yale's Ha on court three. However, Ryndin couldn't maintain her first-set momentum, ultimately falling to Ogilvy 6-3, 3-6, 1-6. Zhao also battled but was defeated by Aggarwal 3-6, 2-6, while
Emma Baker struggled against Brettkelly in a 0-6, 3-6 loss in No. 2 and No. 5 singles play.
Cornell travels to Providence, R.I., to take on Brown on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m.
