ITHACA, N.Y. -
Annelies Bergmann and
Lindzi Avar were tabbed with honors during the final set of ECAC Hockey Player of the Month distinctions. Bergmann earned Goalie of The Month recognition, while Avar was named Rookie of the Month.
In March, Bergmann made 164 saves during Cornell's run through the ECAC Hockey Playoffs, NCAA Regionals, and Frozen Four. She managed a 1.41 goals-against average along with a .953 save percentage during the span. In the semifinal round of the ECAC Hockey Playoffs, Bergmann made 54 saves against Clarkson to aid Cornell's 2-1 triple-overtime victory over the Golden Knights.
Avar was the league's best rookie in March. Her most notable performance during that span came in the ECAC Hockey Championship game where she registered a goal and an assist. She scored 1:37 into the contest, and that marker served as the game-winner to knock off three-time defending champion Colgate.
