NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Cornell men's track and field scored a total of 79.5 points to place fourth overall alongside Derek Amicon winning the 3000m steeplechase at the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Dwyer Track on Sunday.
Amicon delivered the most thrilling moment of the meet, storming from third place to first in the final 100 meters of the 3000m steeplechase, securing the win in a time of 8:59.66.
In the sprints and hurdles, Ryder King impressed with a second-place finish in the 110m hurdles (13.95) and a fourth-place showing in the 400m with his personal best time of 51.65. That new 400m hurdles time is now sixth best in Cornell's record books.
The 4x100m relay squad of Nhenga, De Silva, Mazero, and Barresi also reached the podium, finishing second in 40.62.
The triple jump group dominated with three top-six finishes: Desmond Whitley took second with a personal best leap of 15.21m, Kameron Coleman placed fourth with a personal best jump at 15.00m, and Ryan Antwi claimed sixth (14.74m).
The 1500m saw a tight finish between teammates, as Damian Hackett secured third (3:43.47) and Pierre Attiogbe came in just behind in fourth (3:43.58). In the 800m, Finn Boyle finished fifth with a personal best time of 1:50.32.
The 4x400m relay team of King, Mazero, De Silva, and Meza took fifth in 3:13.32, while Michael Mazero also scored in the 400m, finishing sixth (47.55).
Domenic Barresi contributed double points with sixth-place finishes in both the 100m (10.57) and 200m (21.65). Jeff Yang rounded out the hurdles events with sixth in the 400m hurdles (52.21).
In the field events, Peter Northrup placed fourth with his personal best in the shot put (18.35m) moving up to third all time in the history books as a freshman.
Ryan Brynjolfson cleared 2.01m in the high jump for sixth. Gabriel Ball capped the multi-events with a sixth-place finish in the decathlon, scoring 5587 points with personal best marks in five of the ten events.
