ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. -- The Cornell women's sailing team placed fifth overall at the 2025 Women's Fleet Race National Championships on Friday afternoon. The Big Red's 255 points over 16 races held off Boston College, whose 277 points put it in sixth.
Both A and B division were sixth overall, with the B division registering 121 points - including 11 top 10 finishes with five first-place efforts under skipper

Hope Campbell (races 13-14) and
Sophia Mulvania (races 15-16). A division was led by skippers
Bridget Green (races 1-12) and
Winborne Majette (races 13-16) along with crew Mulvania (races 1-6, 11-12) and Neumann (races 7-10, 13-16). Their consistent effort included 11 top 10 finishes over two days.
After seven complete rounds, the Big Red was tied for first along with eventual champion Stanford and Ivy rival Yale, but dropped to as low as seventh before settling in at fifth, including third in the Ivy League behind Harvard (223) and Yale (250).
The fifth-place finish was one spot ahead of last season's sixth-place effort and one off the all-time best mark of fourth in 2023.
Cornell will complete its season at the ICSA Open Fleet Racing National Semifinals beginning on Tuesday, May 27 in St. Mary's City (Md.).
