JACKSONVILLE, Fla. –After a six hour ran delay, three Big Red runners were able to compete in the first round of the NCAA East Preliminaries with Damian Hackett advancing in the 1500m.
Hackett placed third in his heat with a time of 3:41.72 to advance to the finals in the 1500m that are scheduled for Friday at 5:15 p.m. Hackett started out of the gate with his fastest split of 48.15 through the first 300m.
Teammates Pierre Attiogbe and Ryder King will conclude their season after the first rounds in each of their events. Attiogbe ran in the 1500m heat after Hackett finishing in a time of 3:44.72 to place 33rd overall. King finished just out of qualifying with a time of 14.01 in the 110m hurdles to come in at 26th overall.
Eli Gault-Crabb and Peter Northrup's events got postponed to Thursday due to the weather. Men's Pole Vault will start at 9:30 a.m. and Men's Shot Put will begin at 12:30 p.m. before the women compete.

Two field events will be held tomorrow for the men with Damian Hackett competing in the 1500m finals on Friday along with Derek Amicon in the 3000m steeplechase.
