ITHACA, N.Y. — After wrapping up the fall semester with a 16-3 record, the Cornell Big Red fencing team returns to action at the Princeton Invitational, taking on the Tigers at 2 p.m.
The Season So Far…
Cornell closed the fall semester with a strong 4-2 performance at the Brandeis Invitational, posting decisive victories over Haverford (26-1) and MIT (24-3). The Big Red's overall 118-44 individual bout record at the invitational showcased balanced depth across all three weapons.
Sabre continues to be Cornell's strongest discipline, boasting an impressive 82-31 record (.726 winning percentage) through 13 meets. Senior
Erika Chin and freshman
Marley Kim have been key contributors, combining for a 19-1 mark at Brandeis.
The foil squad has also been dominant with an 85-36 record (.703), led by freshman
Lana Lee and senior
Mia Jo, who each posted 15-3 records at Brandeis. Meanwhile, epee has maintained a steady 75-37 mark (.670), with junior
Nawal O'Neil going a perfect 7-0 at Brandeis and freshman
Anousheh Reid adding an 8-2 performance.
The Big Red's balanced attack across all three weapons will be crucial as they face Princeton and Wagner to open the spring semester.
