ITHACA, N.Y. - Cornell fencing will compete in a pair of invitationals this weekend, traveling to Philadelphia on Saturday for the Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational before heading to Medford, Mass., on Sunday for the Tufts Invitational.
The Big Red enter the weekend with a strong overall record, led by dominant performances across all three weapons. Cornell's foil squad has been particularly impressive, posting a .745 winning percentage with a 114-39 record in dual competition.
Lana Lee leads the way for the Big Red with a team-best 39-9 mark (.813) in foil. Fellow foil fencer
Mia Jo has also been a consistent contributor with a 29-9 record (.763), while
Brianna Lee rounds out the trio with a 26-9 mark (.743).
In sabre, Cornell boasts a .715 winning percentage (103-41) with
Reya Ghayalod leading the charge at 21-7 (.750).
Mia Hsu has also been a key piece with a 19-5 record (.792), while
Erika Chin has posted an impressive 16-1 mark (.941).
The epee squad enters the weekend at .696 (112-49), paced by
Nawal O'Neil's 14-2 record (.875).
Nora Weber has been steady with a 20-10 mark (.667), while
Emersyn Runions adds depth at 17-9 (.654).
Cornell most recently competed Wednesday at Princeton, falling 14-13 in a tightly contested Ivy League dual.
The Dave Micahnik Penn Invitational begins Saturday morning in Philadelphia, followed by the Tufts Invitational on Sunday in Medford.
