ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's indoor track and field team turned in a dominant all-around performance Saturday at the Upstate Challenge, highlighted by multiple event victories and a record-book throw inside Barton Hall.

The meet marked Cornell's third competition of the indoor season and its third consecutive home meet, with the Big Red competing against Syracuse, Colgate, Binghamton and Guelph (Ontario, Canada).

Cornell controlled the sprints early, led by Panashe Nhenga, who won the 60 meters in 6.88 seconds after also claiming the top qualifying spot in the preliminaries. Ricardo Lagares Jr. added a third-place finish in the final, giving the Big Red two of the top three spots in the event.

Cornell also dominated the 1000 meters, finishing first through seventh, led by Finn Boyle's winning time of 2:25.82. Tyler Canaday and Asher Patel rounded out the top three, while freshman Hunter Celkupa placed fourth.

In the field, Noah Harman delivered the highlight of the meet, winning the shot put with a throw of 57 feet, 9.5 inches. The mark now ranks fifth all-time in the Cornell record book. The Big Red claimed the top three places in the event, with Peter Northrup finishing second (57-7) and Joe Seib taking third (53-10.5).

Cornell also earned a victory in the pole vault, where Kegan Mancabelli cleared 16 feet, 0.75 inches to win the event. Wyatt Ricketts added a fourth-place finish. In the long jump, the Big Red placed five athletes in the top eight, led by Stepan Matura's third-place leap of 23 feet, 2.5 inches.
