ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to action this weekend as hosts of the Cornell Invite, a two-day, scored team meet at Barton Hall that will also serve as Senior Day on Saturday for the Big Red.

Cornell will welcome Albany, Binghamton, Colgate, Queen's University (Ontario) and Syracuse for the competition, which features team scoring of 10-8-6-4-2-1 points for first through sixth place.

The meet opens Friday afternoon with the multi-events, as the men's heptathlon and women's pentathlon begin with track and field action throughout the evening. Saturday's schedule includes a full slate of field events and finals on the track, highlighted by sprints, middle-distance races, and the 4x400-meter relays to close the meet.

Friday's action begins at 2 p.m. with the heptathlon 60 meters, followed by the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles. Field events get underway shortly after with the heptathlon long jump and pentathlon high jump. The opening day concludes with the pentathlon 800 meters in the evening.

Saturday's competition resumes at 9:30 a.m. with the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles and continues through a full day of events, including the weight throw, shot put, pole vault, long jump, triple jump and high jump. Track finals begin in the early afternoon with the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash, followed by the mile, 400 meters, 800 meters, 200 meters and 3,000 meters. The meet wraps up with the men's and women's 4x400-meter relays.

The Cornell Invite marks the final home competition of the indoor season for the Big Red and provides an opportunity to honor the program's seniors while testing depth and consistency across all event areas against regional competition.
