ITHACA, N.Y. - The no. 10-ranked Cornell women's ice hockey team played no. 11-ranked Clarkson to a 5-5 draw, while coming away with the shootout victory on Friday night at Lynah Rink. The Big Red moved to 10-6-2, while the Golden Knights shifted to 13-6-3.

Lindzi Avar scored goals for the Big Red.Â

Karel Prefontaine dealt assists. Anneliess Bergmann made 20 saves in the contest, and shut down Clarkson's two shootout chances.
Shelby Laidlaw, Sara Manness, Manon Le scodan, Keira Hurry, and Janelle Evans scored goals for the Golden Knights. Clarkson net-minder Holly Gruber made 31 saves in regulation. Gruber allowed two during the shootout period, leading to the shootout loss.
Laidlaw opened the scoring in the game, giving Clarkson a 1-0 lead seven minutes into the contest. Less than 30 seconds later, Adam scored the equalizer, which was dealt from Van Gelder and Pachl. Eight minutes later, Sara Manness regained the lead for the Golden Knights.
Regalado opened the second period with a greasy-goal in front of the net, tying the game up for the second time. Late in the second frame, Perron-Roy found the back of the net on a crispy feed from Prefontaine and Grober to give Cornell it's first lead of the game. Manon Le scodan spoiled the party for Cornell just one minute later, lighting the lamp and bringing the game even at 3-3.
Avar began the third period by adding another power-play goal to her long list, giving Cornell a 4-3 advantage. Adam potted her second of the game to give the Big Red breathing room. Clarkson put home two power-play goals in a three-minute span to set the game at 5-5.
In overtime, the Golden Knights killed off the Big Red 4-on-3 advantage. Cornell killed off a Clarkson power-play as the overtime frame came to a close, sending the game to shootouts. Grober and Adam finished the job on their shootout chances, and Bergmann kept the Golden Knights off of the board to give Cornell the shootout victory.
