Burton, Tehrani, Whitaker, Moylan Lead Cornell to Second-Place Finish at Empire State Championships

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Cornell gymnastics posted a 192.850 to finish second Saturday at the Empire State Collegiate Championships at Park Center Gymnasium. LIU won the meet with a 194.750, while Brockport (192.000), Cortland (191.950), Ithaca (189.500) and Utica (188.500) rounded out the field.

The Big Red posted season-high scores on balance beam (48.275).

VAULT 
Cami Whitaker won the vault competition with a 9.850, a season-high score for the senior. Grace McLean tied for seventh with a 9.675, while Noelle Wojcik added a 9.625. Michaela DeFrancisco, Dahlia Jhaveri and Addy Rothstein also contributed to Cornell's 48.150 vault total.

UNEVEN BARS 
Morgen Shambo finished second on bars with a 9.750, matching her season high she posted last week at Penn. Sarah Goetter placed fourth with a 9.700, while Josie Moylan tied for sixth with a 9.625. Ava Schenck-Davis, Addy Rothstein and Dahlia Jhaveri rounded out the Big Red's 48.125 on the event.

BALANCE BEAM 
Cornell posted a season-high 48.275 on beam, highlighted by Mikayla Burton and Natalia Tehrani tying for first with matching 9.850 scores. Grace McLean tied for fourth with a 9.775, while Anne MacKenzie tied for 11th with a 9.725. Noelle Wojcik and Nora Sherman also competed on the event.

FLOOR EXERCISE
The Big Red posted a 48.300 in the floor exercise, led by Josie Moylan's 9.875 to tie for first overall. Addy Rothstein and Sarah Goetter each tied for fifth with 9.850 scores. Grace McLean added a 9.625, while Ella Fox and Cami Whitaker also competed on floor.
