| By:
ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell men's tennis team will look to build on its 2-0 home start to the season when it meets Tulsa on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 5 p.m. at Reis Tennis Center. The match will be streamed live on Stretch Internet.

Cornell is 6-2 on the season with road wins over Louisville and Purdue, home sweeps of Buffalo and St. John's and a strong third-pace finish at the ECAC Indoor Championships that included victories over Yale and Penn. The Big Red's two losses this season came against No. 12 Columbia at ECACs and a narrow 4-3 defeat to Michigan at ITA Kick-Off Weekend.

Sophomore Rodrgio Fernandes is 14-7 on the season from the top spot. Both Rethin Pranav Senthil Kumar (14-5) and Felipe Pinzon (11-5) have also excelled in the top-half of the lineup. The doubles tandem of Senthil Kumar and Rushil Khosla is 10-3 on the season, while the NCAA qualifying pair of Pinzon and Teodorovic is off to a 10-2 start. Head coach Silviu Tanasiou sports a 192-108 career record (.640) entering the weekend.

Tulsa is 7-6 on the season entering a morning matchup with Binghamton on Saturday before heading to Ithaca. Head coach Vince Westbrook is in his 35th season directing the program and has led the program to 19 NCAA appearances and nine conference championships. Nikita Volonski (11-7), Timo Carlsson Seger (6-5) and Takeshi Taco (6-7) have been playing at the top of the singles lineup for the Hurricanes so far this season. Cornell holds a 2-1 edge in the all-time series, including a 4-0 sweep by the Big Red last season in Oklahoma.

The Big Red will next play a couple of key non-conference contests in Virginia when it travels south to face VCU on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 11 a.m., followed by Old Dominion on Sunday, March 1 at 10 a.m.
