ITHACA, N.Y. – Cornell men's lacrosse junior
Matthew Tully has been named Ivy League Defensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced via social media on Monday afternoon.
The Big Red goalkeeper made 15 saves in Cornell's 13-11 win over No. 3 Princeton on Saturday, March 15, holding the Tigers to one goal in the fourth quarter to help Cornell improve to 2-0 in Ivy League action and 5-2 on the season.
The 15-save effort marked Tully's fifth game this season with double-digit saves and was one shy of matching his career-high of 16 set against Richmond earlier this season.
On the season, Tully owns a .532 save percentage and 10.63 goals-against average with 83 saves through seven games.
Tully and Cornell men's lacrosse will return to Schoellkopf Field on Saturday, March 28 for a 3:30 p.m. contest against Ivy League foe Yale. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
