Sailing Heads To Maryland For Two Weekend Regattas

ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Cornell sailing team will travel south to Virginia for a pair of weekend regattas as squads will compete at the Jen Harris Women's Team Race at Navy and the St. Mary's Team Race League. The Big Red will compete in the two-day regattas on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8.

At Navy, the Big Red will square off against Brown, Georgetown, Harvard, Hobart and William Smith, Navy,  Dominion, Penn, Rollins, Stanford, South Florida and Tufts, in addition to the home squad. The teams are scheduled to compete in a round-robin of 11 matches apiece.

Cornell will have two rounds at the St. Mary's (Md.) Team Race, competing against Charleston, Christopher Newport, George Washington, Navy, Rhode Island, Roger Williams, Stanford, Tulane, and the host Seahawks.

The Big Red placed sixth at the spring-opening DC Team Race last weekend, springboarding the Big Red into championship season with three wins over Ivy rival Penn and victories over Fordham, George Washington and Old Dominion.
